FAQ

FAQ 1. How can physiotherapy benefit me?

A. Our physiotherapists can treat a wide range of conditions to help relieve your pain and help restore or enhance movement.

We specialise in sports injury diagnosis and treatment but other conditions we treat  include:

• Back pain
• Neck pain and headaches
• Shoulder pain
• Ankle pain and foot pain
• Rheumatology & arthritis
• Orthopaedic (muscles and joints) rehabilitation

FAQ 2. Do I need a referral?

A. A referral is not necessary for private clients, however if you have one please bring it along with any x-rays, scans, or tests. A referral is necessary if you are making a claim through Worker’s Compensation, Third Party Insurance, Department of Veteran’s Affairs, or EPC Enhanced Primary Care via Medicare.

FAQ 3. How long is a treatment session?

A. Our physio treatment services are approximately 45 mins for an initial consultation and 30 mins for a follow up/standard consultation.

FAQ 4. Do you have HICAPS facilities for private health insurance rebates?

A. Yes, we have HICAPS facilities to process your private health insurance claim. Bring your health insurance card to your appointment and you will only pay the gap fee. We are unable to process a claim with the card number alone.

FAQ 5. What should I wear for my consultation?

A. Please wear appropriate clothing to allow exposure of the body part that you are having examined. Shorts are recommended for lower limb examinations and singlet tops are recommended for neck and upper limb examinations. If you think that particular footwear may be relevant to your problem please bring these with you as well. We do have gowns and shorts to borrow if needed.

FAQ 6. When should I arrive for my appointment?

A. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment to allow time for completing documents for administration purposes. If you are running late, please give us a phone call as this may affect others’ appointment times.

FAQ 7. What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?

A. If you need to change your appointment, please call us ASAP. This allows us to open up times to other clients that may need the appointment. This is important to allow us to continue to provide an excellent physiotherapy service. A cancellation fee applies for cancelling on the day of the appointment. This fee is not claimable on health funds and must be paid at the next consultation.
